2 years ago, I went to Bangkok and Pattaya with Sanrong and Thongching but it was with a travel agency and a busload of elderly ppl..so its all about hopping from one shop to one shop where they force u to buy expensive stuffs =( Last November, I went backpacking instead!~ this time i went with 2 other guy friends instead..26th November till 10th Decemberintroducing my fellow backpackers: Fred and Jit Shiong
Hmm I've known Fred since I was 7,so it's been,16 years? and JS abt 3-4yrs i guess. I think you guys will not want to know every single detail so..I'll just summarize it with pictures. .as for the details, that's for me to remember lah, so read if you're interested. hehe.
Day 1: (Sunday)
Reached at noon at Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Had to take the 150Baht bus to Khaosan Rd. and there we took a Tuktuk to a TAT- govt tourism agency We stayed at Bangkok International Youth Hostel where it costs us about 125B/night..
*clockwise: at airport, at BMK, some place, and our dear 7000Bahts we parted with on the 1st day itself!* Hard Rock Cafe, Fred posing with it, HC at MBK (shopping mall), Fred with ka thei (transvestite) who looks amazingly feminine
* Fred and JS at the street where we watched a football match (Man utd against sum team), a live band, Paragon Mall, and the street where the whole street sold lots and lots of beerDay 2:(Monday)
Sleep was pretty good albeit the hot weather as we were exhausted from walking so much!We went to Siam Paragon where everything is so expensive..just sightseeing la..then we went to the bus station to board a bus to Chiang Mai, 8 hours I think..
Days 3,4,5,6
Went trekking up the hills in Chiang Mai..it was a 3 day hike where we stayed with the tribesmen and went elephant riding and water rafting. our hiking group comprises 12 ppl and mostly Canadians..there was also a Belgian, American and Korean..and us 3 Malayisans =) ooohh and we had rats(or izit mice?) for dinner and breakfast!but that wasn't the main meal, only 3 of us were curious what the tribesmen eat,so we tried the rat soup and bbq rats. not bad..but chicken is better. haha

Reached Bangkok again..we took train this time..quite comfy..upon reaching, we left our stuffs at TAT and went to Chatuchak Market where there are thousands of stalls..very famous for its things and variety. Poor jit shiong kena pickpocket there though..we had this sling bag where we kept our passports, wallets, handphones and camera..nasib baik our handphones not stolen..he didnt realise that someone unzipped the bag till some passerby told him..but too late lar. When we went to report ar, there has already been more than 2 pages full of reports. =( tsk tsk so ppl pls be careful when you go Chatuchak! Oh, his wallet kena pickpocket la.. so suei coz he just borrowed RM100 from me to change to Thai Baht. We were quite naive la, say wanna use only RM1k in 2 weeks, so we didn't bring extra cash, after kena pickpocket (there was abt RM200 inside) terus tak cukup. had to withdraw money using my visa card.2-4) Rats, rats, rats! Our travelmates in Chiang Mai1) Amazing waterfall 2) Looking tribal
